Drummer Militia of Veliky Novgorod 13th Century The Veliky Novgorod Militia fought on the Russian side with Alexander Nevskii as their commander against the Crusaders. The Russians stopped the Crusaders at Lake Peipus (Battle of the Ice) in 1242. The bust is sculpted by Anton Derbilov. Viking of Rus Principality 9th-10 Century

Staying with the Viking theme here is one I have just finished. Made by Pagaso Models, Italy. I painted this 54mm with acrylic's, also painted the metals with acrylic's using the new Scale 75 paints. The Rus were Norseman that came to what is now Russia, Ukraine and Belarus from what is today Roslagen of modern day Sweden. They settled in the area and united what is now Russia giving it its name.

"The Rendezvous 1812"

I created this 54mm diorama from an assortment of figure kits. The cafe facings are from Pagaso kits. I made the roof on the right building. The French Napoleonic soldiers and table, chairs and water barrel are from Andrea kits. The cafee server is from a MB kit. The lady coming to see the soldiers is from a Metal Models kit.The rest of the parts in the diorama are Verlinden,Time Machine or I made them. This one took me a couple of months to complete painting the parts and assembling. However I was working on it a couple years gathering kits. I like these fun projects.

Roman Signifer 1st Century A.D.

This bust was a bit tricky to paint I had to paint parts and assemble the bust as I went. The bear skin hood/ with (sculpting putty fill), cheek plates and leather tie were added after I finished painting the face.The face has a nice scar! The base plate came with the kit. I painted this one with acrylic's and printers inks were used on the metals. this bust was made by Young Miniatures, 1/10 scale.
