Gaucho of the Infernales Regiment 1815

Gaucho of the Infernales Regiment 1815. New 1/9 scale resin bust from United Empire Miniatures, sculpted by Roman Rux. I painted this bust for the box art photo. Painted with acrylic's and used some oils on the red. Looked like an easy bust to paint but red is always a challenge to paint and he wears a red jacket and a red chiripa. The "boleadoras" stone balls, were a weapon fastened by leather thongs to a long leather strap. The Gaucho would spin the stones and sling them at the enemy, winding them up around their legs and smashing their bones.

Napoleons Dream

This 54mm diorama took me about a year to make, working on it once I figured out my next step. . The idea came when I saw the 54mm Napoleon figure made by Andrea at a figure show. The concept was in my head but I had to sculpt and build the Aliens from scratch. The uniform parts worn by the Aliens or used in the diorama came from various kits or parts I had. Some are metal some are plastic or resin. The sculls came from Greece. The concept: Napoleon is having a short battle field nap as he sometimes would. He dreams of his French soldiers dead on the battle field only their sculls and a couple pieces of head gear remain. He is fast runing out of men for his army. He needs soldiers but where are they going to from, outerspace? Aliens apear in his dream. is the battle lost? I had fun building and painting this 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 diorama. Painted with acrylic's. I used green stuff and AB compound to sculpt the Aliens and ground.

My latest figure.British 42nd Highlander 1783,54mm figure from United Empire Miniatures. I created this groundwork setting in a 1 1/2 day class I took at the 2015 Atlanta Figure Show. Some steps: I glued a resin tree stump to the wood base, painted the tree and added branches and foliage to make a tree. The branches and tree roots are made of dryed tomato plant roots( very tuff when dryed).Next I Sculpted rocks from 2-part pool putty and stained them with a oil paint sepia wash making a nice realistic rock cropping for my figure to stand on. Next I added ground cover and plants adding touches of paint to give the a more realistic look. I painted my figure after I returned home and was very pleased to finish and place it in the scene.

"Vikings Two Generations"

"Vikings Two Generations" I designed and built this 54mm diorama using Andrea and Pegaso kits along with converted other parts and sculpted in the ground work. This must have been what the Vikings did in the winter when they were not plundering.Working outside in the cold would not have bothered them as they are a hearty people. I painted the scene with acrylic's and printers inks.
